About IPeX

Our Vision

To foster a thriving, ethical, and inclusive authority exchange community rooted in respect, accountability, and growth. We envision a space where individuals can explore power with integrity, deepen their relational skills, and engage in meaningful conversations about identity, privilege, structure, consent, and responsibility — while feeling protected, supported, and seen.

Our Mission

To create a structured and protected space for education, dialogue, and community-building around consensual authority exchange.

IPeX exists to:

  • Provide thoughtful discussion and learning opportunities centered on power exchange dynamics
  • Cultivate a culture of consent, confidentiality, and accountability
  • Support individuals at all stages of experience — from curious newcomers to seasoned practitioners
  • Maintain a space that prioritizes psychological safety over performance, play, or social status

We are not a play space or dating group. Our work centers conversation, reflection, and relational integrity.

Our Values

Accountability

We commit to transparent processes, clear boundaries, and consistent follow-through. Complaints are taken seriously and reviewed with care, fairness, and discretion. Leadership remains accountable to the community we serve.

Confidentiality

What is shared here stays here. Trust is the foundation of authentic participation. Identities, stories, and personal disclosures are protected. Safety is actively preserved, not assumed.

Inclusivity

We are committed to diversity, equity, and accessibility. We welcome individuals across gender identities, sexual and romantic orientations, races, ethnicities, bodies, abilities, educational backgrounds, and lived experiences. We do not tolerate transphobia, racism, sexism, homophobia, ableism, body shaming, or disparagement of consent culture.

We recognize that kink and power exchange exist within broader social and political realities, and we hold space for those intersections thoughtfully.

Growth

Authority exchange is not static. We believe in continual learning, skill development, emotional intelligence, and relational depth. Education is an ongoing process, and we welcome feedback as part of community evolution.

Integrity

Actions matter more than aesthetics. We expect members to show up with honesty, humility, and respect for both the power they hold and the power they offer.

Participation & Structure

IPeX events are private and require vetting and committee approval prior to attendance. Event locations are shared only with approved participants. Participation in public events does not guarantee acceptance into private spaces.

This group is not an announcement list for unrelated events. Posts should align with IPeX’s focus on authority exchange, education, and community discussion.

If you are uncertain whether something is appropriate to post, please contact a committee member before sharing.

About Kink.town Chat

Kink.town

Kink.town is a privacy focused, invite only chat service run by and for kink groups that want to keep their members safe from predatory corporate platforms.

We base everything on open source tools, modified as necessary to give the best privacy and security guarantees that we can. These tools are often rough around the edges or lack features found in for-profit products, but we hope the knowledge that your private chats are not being hoovered up for LLM training makes the learning curve worthwhile.

Our server is based in Europe, everything is end to end encrypted, and the apps load nothing from third parties.

Chat

The chat is built on Matrix, an open standard, using the Synapse server and the Element apps. It works much like Discord: each group has a Space (like a server) with rooms inside it (like channels), roles for admins, moderators and members, announcement rooms, and voice and video lounges. Direct messages work with anyone on the server.

Everyone on the server also shares the Town Hall Space for cross group conversation. Beyond that, members of different groups only meet by invitation, and no group is shown another group's rooms or members.

Getting started with chat

Members Only

Accounts here are by invitation, and only for vetted IPeX group members. Existing members can reach out to request an invitation. Group leaders create invitation links at ipex.beta.kink.town/invite. Opening the link lets you choose a username and password, nothing else is asked, and you are added to the IPeX Space and the Town Hall commons right away.

Signing in

Open chat.beta.kink.town and sign in with just your username and password. New members create their account first through an invitation link from a group leader. The first time you sign in, the app asks you to set up Secure Backup. Save the recovery key somewhere safe. Without it, a lost phone means lost message history.

Encryption

Every chat is end to end encrypted, always: group rooms, direct messages, and voice, video and screen share calls of any size. The server only sees who is in which room and when, never what is said. The first time you sign in it may take a moment to set up your encryption keys before you can send your first message.

Voice and video calls

If nobody can see or hear you in a call, your browser, network or VPN is probably blocking WebRTC. VPN browser extensions often have a "WebRTC leak protection" switch that needs to be off for calls to work. Trying another network is the quickest test.

Apps and clients

The chat runs on Matrix, an open standard, using the Element apps. Use chat.beta.kink.town in any browser, where it can also be installed as an app from the browser menu. On a phone, install Element X and sign in by scanning the QR code from the web app under Settings, Sessions, Link new device. This is a beta server while we test, so expect an occasional reset.

Privacy policy

Who runs this

This server is run by the IPeX Committee. It is not a commercial service.

What we store

Your username, the profile details you choose to share, which rooms you are in, and the encrypted message history needed to sync your devices. Messages, files and calls are end to end encrypted and stored only in encrypted form. Server logs are kept for 14 days and connection addresses for 7 days, for troubleshooting.

What the server can see

The names, topics and member lists of Spaces and rooms, and who sent a message when, are visible to the people running the server. The content of messages, files and calls is not, including large calls. That is a limit of every chat system, and we say so plainly rather than hide it.

What we don't do

No ads, no tracking scripts, no analytics, and no selling or sharing your data. This page loads nothing from third parties.

Your choices

You can export your data or delete your account at any time. Ask us at IthacaPowerExchange@protonmail.com and we'll do it within 10 days.

Request an invitation

Membership is by invitation. Send a short note about who you are and who referred you, and we'll reply with a sign-up link.
